I just read the article by CNN reporter that speaks to the extreme proposal that babies be banned from airline travel! For those who are already familiar with me through past posts, then you will know that I addressed this issue years ago - not only of keeping baby content on airplanes but in any situation when out and about! The idea of not allowing families to travel with babies is preposterous! In a country that sees families spread across the land from coast to coast as children grow up, leave home and settle at great distances and then establishing their own families... Well, you get the idea. Grandparents in Michigan, grandchildren in Oklahoma! Not to mention those vacations with little time allowed by job obligations, school and the like, where the actual travel time to and fro eats up the actual time spent at the destination, where air travel is the only practical way to go, this proposed restriction is unacceptable.
Yes, it is disconcerting to hear a baby in distress - anywhere! But, there is a solution. Board the plane with all that you will need to keep baby comfortable, secured, cozy, content; and that means having toys, food, drink and a way to shut out environmental noises and distracting light at feeding and sleep times. My answer is, of course, the aforementioned solution - my amazing 6-in-1 shape-shifter diaper bag/travel tote - the TEND-A-TOT(tm).
